Hey guys. I've got a 96 coily. Will have a 4age 1.6ltr in my zook soon. Also doing vitara diffs and reduction tcase gears(6.5's). Anyone ever run 33's with this type of set up. I've got 50mm suspension and 50mm body but it's going another 30+mm higher aswell. Any opinions??

I think he means Vitara ratios in coily diffs.

Sorry mate but you will need chromo CV's to run 33's on a coily. But unfortunately nobody makes them yet.

You should stick to 31's, or swap the entire front diff assembly for a WT sierra diff with chromo CV's. (read: Heaps of work!!)

Whoa, not much of this makes sense. Both posts.

Coily = high pinion = trouble with finding any ratios to suit. Its a coily!

I would keep your lift as is, get transfer gears with a sierra case. leave diff gears stock, and fit 33's with front unlocked.

I have run 33's for ages, thrashed, never done a front axle or cv. Unsure if coilys have the same size cv's.?

I run 33's with 3" lift. Alltogether. But my diffs are adjusted to suit, moved 25mm forwards etc, major work on a coily.. So you may have to use a hammer for clearance.

If not, 31's it is, or soft driving on 33's..unlocked..

Even 31's would be pushing it..

Fatzook, I have seen the difference in shape between WT and coily CVs, but what exactly makes a standard WT CV stronger.

Also, Can you get Cro-Mo CVs for Jimny - I have heard people run Jimny CVs in their coilies?

jimny cv's are puny, to go with the puny axles. 1.3 sierra's are bigger/older/stronger.

But put a 1.3 cv next to a lux one.. the 1.3 looks puny!

And the list goes on.

you can do a timmy and run a 50mm BL and sagy ass springs.... it's low thats for sure

but timy don't kid yourself there's like 2" over all in your zook and 33s....

You CAN get chromos for a JIM. Parana sell them. At $2k a set, i'd just be running 30's.

ill see what the future brings. yer im getting 5.12 vitara centres, WT Tcase for reduction gears 6.5:1's. my 31's get a flogging and its never failed. if shit brakes i have a few mates with coilies so i can get a couple of spare parts. yer chromo's are nice and exspensive for a daily driver.

I run 6.5's with 3.7 diff gears, and onroad its great with 33's..

5.12's you will be doing 80kmh at full revs! (guesstimate)

You will have 3.9? atm. Dont change your diff gears.

I should measure between my stock bumps again..

Easy, cut them up, put them in.
Or
Run them backwards. If that is possible.

There is no other way in the high pinion front, unless you get a low pinion, and completely change all the steering arms. Which will have to be custom.

Blue Suzy... might just leave my diff centers alone and see how they handle it with abit more power. Buying a w/t sierra fr parts soon. Pulling the 4AGE motor out of it and sliding the necessary components into mine plus a w/t tcase for reduction gets later down the track!!

and also, if you lock in your hubz with 33s they will break trying to mount a kerb.....

you will want to take the body off if your going to stick a 4age in. you will need new engine mounts, gearbox mount, and transfer mounts.
What do you plan to do with the sump? it is in reverse to a sierra, you will either have to push the front diff way forward (7 -8") or try and reverse it or bash it in.

Can't usually bash them in enough, because the oil pickup is in the deepest part of the sump.
