Post subject:  rebuilt G16a bottom pulley not lining up with other pulleys

I bought my JX 91 vitara with the original g16a engine in parts ready for rebuild. After rebuilding engine, the bottom pulley doesn't line up with the water pump & alternator pulleys. The bottom pulley is a single row pulley with the 5 bolt holes, but seems to sit out to far from the timing cover case. The car doesn't have power steering fitted. While the engine is the original engine, the crank was replaced. Also another engine was pulled down to supply better conditioned parts where possible including the crank, but did not have pulleys on it. The parts engine was also a g16a engine that had previously been fitted in a sierra. Water pump and alternator are from the original Engine.

pulley sits out about 7mm more than the other pulleys. Will a dual row pulley for the bottom one fix this problem or is there something else to consider?

Also, I ended up with two different timing belt tensioners in the box of parts supplied. A little straight one & and a bigger L shape one from memory. The standoff for the centre of the timing cover case seems to make it impossible to use the bigger L shape one and the smaller one seem to look out of place and the big spring was no where to be seen. For the moment, the larger tensioner has been modified to hold the tension on the belt. I would like to set it up the way it should be, but the repair manual i had didn't have very good pictures & the tensioner appeared to be different again. What tensioner should i use & how is it setup? pictures would be good :D

may need another tensioner & spring if someones got one. A better condition timing cover & pulleys would be nice to.

Thanks Steve
