I'm currently running 235/70x16 (29") on GV rims under my '97 V6 Vitara, I have no issues with rubbing at all. I am looking at fitting 245/75x16 (30.5") for a bit more height and want to know if these will rub. There still seems to be a fair bit of room to play with as the overall diameter is only 1.5" wider. Has anyone run the 245/75x16 with only a 2" lift and if so did they have problems with rubbing? I may also consider fitting a 2"body lift if needed. Cheers, Mick |

While not exactly the same, to give you some idea I've got 265/70/16 (which are the same diameter at ~30.5") on my 97 SWB and there wasn't a chance they would go on without _serious_ scrubbage when I had just a 2" suspension lift. With a 2" body lift and a tiny bit of massaging (smack the rear edge of the front guards in a little and chop out the inner bottom lip of the front bumper) they fit great. Could probably be done if you extend the bumpstops a decent amount and get the hammer out, but my vote is for the body lift. Improves your approach/departure angles and gets your sills further away from damage as well as given you the room for the bigger boots. |
