i am about to make up a bracket for my reversing lights, i was thinking about 2x55w globes, will this be 2much for the standard wiring? i dont realy want to go though the extra pain of a relay and running wires up the car etc.

1 x 55w is too much, fit a relay or get led lights

in my rear bar build thread a few months ago you will see that i mounted a 55w spotty.it was done through a realay etc to try stop damage but after only a few weeks the light was staying on,i have power to the back of car at all times so im guessing i done a reverse switch allready even trying to do it properly.

anyway in my opinion 1 is plenty the light it puts out is crazy, mines on the drivers side

I ran 1 x 55watt spotty, and the the 2 stock lights on my zook reverse for ages, no obvious issues.
But I didn't have an LED option then.
I say go LED directly from rev wires

I run 2 driving lights as reverse. Blew the switch within days.

I now run a relay with the reverse switch.
