hi All, I purchased a suzuki Vitara (1995) JLX model SWb hardtop with advice from some blokes down the road with big 4X4's. So far I love it to death (The hole 4 times i have driven it anyway). but i hit a big bump today and it stopped working straight away. I checked it over, can't find anything disconnected etc, checked the fuses, the fuse that reads "FI" was blown, so replaced it, it keeps blowing fuses. I now have the tank out, the pump out and it all looks fine, anyone have any ideas as to why my zook wont run?... the wiring all seems to be wrapped up fine so I would thing it is not a bad earth etc. but i'm open to any and all suggestions. i want it going again asap. i'm hoping to play with it way more before going back to work... cheers in advance. |

I just pulled the tank and pump out. fitted a new fuse, then hit the ignition, it turned the pump on straight away without blowing the fuse. so i bolted the tank and everything back in and tried it again, it blew the fuse again!!!. Now I'm really buggered. think i'll go to bed and catch up with it all tomoz... |

HAHA. Yeah, its certainly not an F1.... I now have the wiring firmly in my sights... But I'm bloody lost. This thing is not looking like being fixed without a trip to the auto sparkies.... |

I had a similar thing happen on my td42. when i put it into 4wd. in the end i traced all the wires underneath and it was a wire shorting against the chassis. |

Found it, After pulling the fuel pump from the tank for the 3rd time (total install and uninstall) there was one of the internal wires where the outer coating had come away, that was leaving it exposed to the metal housing. bout $8 worth of heat shrink and put it back in. now its running like a charm. so after a quick wedding rehearsal this afternoon I'm hitting the beach once again!! HAHA |

Yeah I love it being cheap... I took it straight down the beach, rolled a tyre off the rim and then realised i left the jack back in the shed from when i was working on it! haha. |
