hi all,
i posted 2 pics of my sierra in my album, as you can see i have some shitty decals on it that i would like to remove,
anyone got a good way of getting rid of old crappy decals?

Use a heat gun to get stickers off and then some acetone to remove the glue left behind

only use acetone if the paints fucked.or it will end up fucked, acetone will fade good paint or in some cases take it off.
use prepsol if the paint is still good, soak a rag in it and cover glue area for a minute and the glue will wipe off with no paint damage.

I did exactly the same as most of these guys suggested. Used a hair dryer to removedthe stickers, it did take quite some time as they were pretty baked on and brittle. Then i used prepsol to remove all the gunk.

caramel wheel & eucalyptus oil for the sticky residue..
Cheep caramel wheel is around $15 & if used properly will strip the decal's off 3 sierra's..

Acetone is nailpolish remover.. It also removes acrylic nails...Strong stuff.. Id be scared to put it on any car, except an ex's.

You can also use Ti Tree oil to remove the residue. Smells a bit nicer, and you can buy it in 50-100ml bottles.

as been said, get some sort of heat source (i have a heat gun )and just dont make any plans as it takes yrs. i have been doing mine every couple of weekend and i recon i do about 1-2" an hr lol. i have about 120" (10' or 3m) and have taken about 10 of those inches off. (have had the car for about 1 yr)

a sharp razor blade is the best way to remove them BUT it takes a lot of practice and will take chunks out of your paint if you get it wrong.
with pracitce you could get pinstripes off the side of a commodore SLE in about 2 minutes

yeah i did that, but without the practice lol. i have a few little marks from where the paint has been taken off but nothing huge. bring on summer!

Ive been useing flux remover to get glue and shit off lately... Comes in a spray pack and works great. Just dont use it on damaged areas or it will kill the paint. It removes spray paint from clear coat. So aslong as the paints good it will work.

So none of the major automotive stores had one in your area, that's not to surprising but sometimes you can be lucky?

Your next best bet is to go to an auto paint shop, bodywork supply store or go to a crash repairer and ask if he has one lying around that you can buy.

wow man LOL ,,,,wow, ah yeah i was posing for he girl, she liked it haha, the pin stripes are off, the other green thing was taking paint so i left it on,
used a hairdryer, yes the paint is brighter underneath but it still looks better than the stripes, will buff it and polish, but i doubt it will change much,
