Not with a vit efi tank, no lift pump needed, has a swirl put built in with a h/pressure pump, TBI should have a reg on it.
Lift pump's are needed for surge tank's..

:P Is that techy?? :P

i'll have a crack :P
you heard the vit tank will fit your lwb with mount mods
the efi tank has the sender you need to run fuel injection
not sure if it will work with tbi :| .. i think not. a suzuki tbi guru can jump in but i think they run a lower pressure than mpfi. somewhere around lift pump pressure?

if someone ran up to me and punched me in the mouth and told me it was a vit tank i'd believe them about now.....

ok so, i've been told that to run tbi you need to use a different tank. because of the fancy bit's inside of them (still not sure what any of the fancy bits are just know i need them)

im not that worried about what the fancy bit's do i just need to know if an 89 vit tank will be waht i need..............

mr green thanks :D

but like stek said i think that there is a built in fuel regulator + i've been told on many occasions that i need a high pressure VL fuel pump.... i think ill be safe with the vit tank and it's junk....

elgoogle says no dice.... it's going to be carby.....

Post subject:  Re: fuel questions

ok then. the fancy bits your talking about are the swirl pot, pressure pump, return hose . a 89 vit will only have it if its a lwb. shortys didn't see efi till 94.

so a pressure pump is a fuel pump? if i got a vit tank and it was efi i wouldn't need to buy another fuel pump?

Post subject:  Re: fuel questions

yep. theats right. a lot neater and quieter than the vl pump setup. just hard to come by. i ended up buying a whole lwb vit to get parts including tank. rang around the wreckers and couldn't find a complete tank this side of the big smoke...... but somehow it was easier to drive to gympie to part a car than drive to sydney to pick up a tank :?

then offload the rest of the car to some bloke

Post subject:  Re: fuel questions

just a thought. why cant fuel pumps from a efi outboard be used? mine self primes
and lifts fuel probably 800mm and the tank would be 3mtr from the pump.
they don't need a swirl pot or return line of any of that sort of flash stuff. they
just need a fuel line, 12v power and cableties to stop it flapping around.

Post subject:  Re: fuel questions

the reason you need all this is cause EFI doesnt have a float bowl like a carby does so there is no buffer for times when its not possible to pick fuel up from the tank, IE low tank level and up or down hills or side angles or cornering and so on, which leads to stutters and lean outs and bad stuff

so you either need an efi tank like out of a vit or coily that has the pump inside it picking up fuel from a well in the bottom of the tank thats designed to stop the starvation issue or run a low pressure pump from a carby tank into a surge tank that then feeds a high pressure pump for the engine, the surge tank by design then always has fuel at the pickup at the bottom and is big enough to have a buffer when no fuel is being suplied from teh tank

I used to run TBI with a VL Bosch pump and now run MPFI with the same pump.
I run a standard Sierra tank with a facet lift pump to a surge tank then the Bosch to the engine.

31Zook:
Get a coily tank and fit an EFI Vitara pump to it
OR
Get a post 94 Vitara SWB tank and fit it complete.
OR
Get a Vitara LWB(any year) tank and fit that.

im thinking for the whole looking stock thing ill go a vit efi tank, sounds more simple the rest of the options

thanks royce for explaining what all the gadgets do :D

Post subject:  Re: fuel questions

The most "stock" looking setup would be a coily tank with a Vit pump fitted.
It is the easiest too... IF you can find a coily tank.

Vit SWB efi tank is the same capacity as the sierra I think :?

Bubble burst

The LWB tank is 55L, and the SV420/620 is 60ish.
