Hey guys,
Ive had my vitara a few months now and other than throwing a set of muddies on it and the spotties it came with there are no other mods.
Im thinking of the following:
Safari snorkel
An ironman lift kit giving me an 1 1/2" lift
and possibly a new bull bar and winch set up

great to get some ideas as i haven't the slightest of clues

gday mate and welcome.

there are plenty of really nicely set up vitaras on here. maybe just flick through some of the vitara build up threads and you can get a few ideas.

a bull bar is always a good idea, in my mind anyway, as i do a fair bit of touring and there are plenty of roos that are willing to do damage to a lil zook.

suspension is another good idea, will give a much more comfy ride and increase flex and you also can fit bigger wheels on.

but thats just basic stuff, there are plenty of blokes on here that will be able to help ya in any aspect of mods right up to the real complex shit.

That sounds like a pretty good base to start from, but it depends on what you plan on doing. If you are planning on doing a lot of hard stuff, then you would want to consider lower ratio gearing (wether you do that with reduction transfer gears or reduction diff gears) and a locker (a lockright in the back is a good place to start if you cant afford pAyRB airlockers.)

Before you buy Ironman, take a look at lovells.
I don't know anything about the Ironman but a lot of guys here are running lovells, including myself and we have all been very happy with it.

cheers guys sounding good. not looking to do anything to extreme to it just yet. What size tyres is everyone running once they get a couple of inches of lift?

Welcome to the site, frontal protection is a good way to start.
Protection and a better aproach angle is always a good thing, if a steel bullbar is fitted an upgrade in suspension is a good idea for the extra weight.

With suspension i have gone to the bigger more expensive end of things with the calmini lift. 3" and i've fitted 30" tyres.

But going that big isnt necessary if you arent going to tackle anything to tough.
As mentioned above, the lovells give a good ride. and hold up well.

Yeah not thinking of going too big, i use it for my main drive and just want that little bit extra for some weekend stuff. I looked a the calimini lift kits and decided against it. Plus i need somewhere or someone to fit it. Anyone know of anywhere good is brisbane? superior engenieering don't do vitaras apparently

I can give you a hand to do it, I've had mine in and out several times, save you some coin and then you'll know how to do it next time.

Cheers Mugwui. Does anyone know where sells lovells suspension in brisbane? Ive looked in most places and the best ive got so far was the ironman kit fitted for $1100. Any suggestions?
