On a similar note, is it just me, or does $440 for an exchange Carby (Fully Reconditioned) seem a bit much?

i got mine off ebay about a month ago for $55, they come up farely often. $440 sounds reasonable for a fully reconditioned carby. The sierra carby's get a lot of play in the main shaft, this can lead to new components needed to be lathed up, labour to pull it apart and put it back together. Along with an acid dip and whatever else they do with it, it is worth it.

$400 to $500 sounds about average, some places include fitting and tuning as part of the price...
