So I finally have some decent WT flares in my possession and looking put them on my tintop. Question is are the WT mounting brackets needed for fitting or can the NT little lip mountings be used for the job?

I would just go have a look for myself but I don't have my car in my possession currently

I don't have WT mounting brackets, hence the question. Getting any sierra parts down this way is a pain in the ass too

:P

I just bolted the tag's to the flare, lined em up on the car & used roofing screw's through the n/t bracket's, have had the car leaning on em, plenty strong enough..

Cheers Stekky, I'll just do something like that but maybe a little different as my flares are the plastic ones.

Get some 1mm thick gal/zinc angle 25x25 or somethin .. Cut slits every inch or so along one edge so it can be bent and wraps around the line of your wheel arch on the outside
Rivet it into the guard, then tech screw/rivet the plastic flare on the underside to mimic the standard fitment

This is how i was going to mount metal WT flares to mine, would've worked a treat.. And should be ok for the plastic versions

Or get the angle rolled at your local fabrication shop. Easier, neater, and you won't have 7000 cuts in the angle where rust can form.

Well here are some pics of my plastic flare mounting system to give you an idea. Note I do have a virtual lift. These are a few brackets I made to hold the drivers front flare on. I used 32x3mm ally plate, cut and bent to fit the guard and flare. Three mounts per flare. Used M6x16mm stainless nuts and bolts to hold everything together and to ensure no rust!!
