| Post subject: | machining vitara stub axles. |
Can any one tell me if machining down the locating ridge on the back face of a stub axle will cause it to be weakened, basically in this pic the diameter is around 90mm and i need it to be 70mm 
they are hardened so it will be "fun" to lathe it down but i just want to make sure that the strength will still be where it needs to be. |

& your going to get it case hardened again, can't you find somting more suited?? Or have it made?? |

yeah, either that or i cut some adapter plates, but they will only be mild steel any way im not even sure that that part of the stub will matter if its weaker |
