Looking at some gearing ideas for the vit I have 4.2:1 in the vit case but it doesn't do high range Wat do u recon of running a stock Sierra case behind the vit on with 4.6 diffs and 31 maybe 33 Do u recon it would load up the Sierra input to much when the vit is in low and sierra is in high Wouldnot use 8:1 very much but 2:1 in the Sierra case would be nice on the beach and on dirt roads where 4:1 is to low Would the tale shaft angle be to bad wIth the offset out put the vit is a lwb so the shaft is pretty long |

Also would it be better mated or devorced |

you would have to run it devorced. a better solution would be to get a pair of 5.12 diffs which would help lower high and low range. |

or even better some after market diff gears. duals is alot of work and not going to be great in a vit |

If I were to do duals in my vit I'd use a second vit case. IMO it would be stronger than the Sierra case Tanshi: Why would duals in a vit not be great? IMO gearing is good and once it's setup another stock transfer can be had pretty easy if it everlet go. if it's a 1.6 vit it will already have 5.12s and I'm pretty sure there arent many if any aftermarket diff options Jmo though Inbits |

my big issue with it would be that, unless you put reduction gears in one of the cases as well its not a great deal of gearig for the work involved, also the offset of the rear diff will give you drive line issues, just not really worth it. |

Using A Sierra transfer you would get the driveshaft issue but using a second vit one I think would be worth it IMO. joeblow runs vit twins in his Sierra and as far as I know he doesn't run reduction gears in either of them. I could be wrong though |

I looked at that but ur stuck with a 6:1 low then and 4:1 is to low for some things as it is but not low enough for other stuff that's y I thought that the Sierra case would be good as it gives the option of a 2:1 low 4:1and 8:1 |

Best thing would be if Joe made 1.4:1 portals for vits |

with a standard sierra case how do you get 8:1. vitara low range is 1.8 1.3 sierra case is 2.2 that give a low low range of 4:1 |
