Hi Guys,

Wondering if you could help me with this one.

It's a hot one in Perth today and I have been driving around for an hour in the Jimny with the air-con on.

Feeling hungry I went to Red Rooster for a feed.

Waiting in line with the air-con still on it started to make a knock knock sound and the idle speed dropped to around 600rpm. It immediately rectified itself when I switched the air-con off.

Also when I drove off and turned it back on it was really gutless and kept making the noise.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks.

factory air?

I have aftemarket air on mine and have spent a fucking gazzilion dollars trying to fix stupid noises this year, its about to go back again soon but mine first made a similar sound when a piston let go in the compressor

Yeah factory.

It is booked in at Suzuki tomorrow, but if it was something simple I thought perhaps I could fix it.

I just know they are going to fight over warranty if something is wrong...they always do.

OH you have aftermarket suspension - that must be the problem for everything in the car!!

It seems to drive perfectly fine without the air con and perhaps the heat is not helping.

just check that all the bolts around the aircon are done up tight too =) never know, might have slipped through during repairs.

Yeah it might have something to do with that. Suzuki are going to take a look at it tomorrow.

I had the car on for a couple of mins just then and it didn't do it so it might be an overheating issue somewhere???

hopefully its a simple fix and running ok before the big trip down south =) otherwise you'll be getting more of a sierra experience down there (natural airconditioning).

BLOODY HELL!

The dealership can't replicate the issue so there is nothing that can be done about it!

They had it from 7:30-3:00.

Frustrating thing is that I can't replicate it now either.

I hate not knowing coz something going wrong in the sticks really sucks willy.

Might have it on for the long drove south tomorrow might and see what happens.

Did you have this problem again or is all good?
I had a very rattly sounding idle which turned out to be worn belts. New belts, all good.
