I ran Extreme Trekkers at road pressure on sand a couple of times and they were OK.... Lower pressures would have been better but it didn't cause any dramas I couldn't drive out of. You'll be right. |

Jonno's car lives in the red, so rev's won't be an issue! |

I use my TSL/SX on the beach a heap ( i lived that close to the beach that i was on sand, i could drive from my house to the beach front without touching tar). They were not as good as my MTR's or road terrain style tyres, but performed fine when air'd down to round 5psi. Layto.... |

how are you checking the psi jonnno? with a guage they sound like near 0 psi long before you get to 0. when I first bought my swampers I pulled the valve entirely out and they sat like they had 15psi in them for nearly 1/2 an hour before they bagged flat. now they just go down. you need to condition them a bit first (run them low for a while to soften the side walls.) but the thing you need to remember is they are bias ply with a very stong side wall and they will never look like a radial thats aired down. Ill put a pic up later for you |

5 on a regular tyre would be a rather huge bulge Once the sidewall frees up a little it will show it Don't expect it to be bulging like an A/T though.. Bias tyres just won't get that far without alot of weight/force on them You see at Tufftruck, they run beadlocked 40s and whatnot on 5psi.. And they look like they're at 40PSI! Until they put a wheel on a rock, and the whole thing compresses Ofcourse this doesn't really help you on sand.. Sand has a habit of moving easier than your bias tyre flexes |

Actually Phil if you'd looked on my fb pics you would see my old sierra at peron with the swampers on. I aired them to ten from memory, and they got around ok, but nothing like a road tyre! |

Oh how I wish I was seventeen again! That zook used to take me so many places! Used to clear $250 a week, spent $80 on my toolbox loan, $50 board, $50 repayments for the zook & $50 fuel, used to fill my tank (long ranger) and that was me spent for a week! Save for two weeks for that annual easter trip to peron dunes, enough to cover caravan park costs and home brand hamburgers and a box of piss, life was good! |
