Post subject:  Suspension sag - Quick fix

My GV is at the tyre shop now getting some new 225/70R16 Maxxis AT771s today. We had a look at the shop and as the rear is sagging quite a bit it may be a very tight squeeze. The front looks like it will be fine.

I'm saving up for a lift-kit, hopefully it will be my christmas present, but untill then, is there any quick fix for the suspension sag? I'm assuming a coil spacer would do the job, but not sure when I can get one from quickly.

Any advice would be great, as it would be a pain if I can't get the new tyres put on.

I'll get some photos taken and get a rig thread soon.

Cheers

coil spacers would be the quickest way to bump the rear back up or

*cough very dodgy*

you could buy some quality tennis balls & jack it up & squash them in between the coils..... not sure if it will actually work but it's a good theory.

Liking the tennis ball idea. A bit of yellow would look great as well.

Anyone in Perth know somewhere that will stock GV spacers? I've found a few online but not sure how long delivery will take.

Ebay, and express ship them.. Should be 1-2 days
I bought transfer mounts off 4wd_products at 2pm one arvo.. Got them the next day at 11am.. Now THAT's express haha

Coil spacers aren't dodgey, just be warey you won't max out your shock's extension.. You can cause alot of damage to shocks and shock mounts if you max them out hard

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/POLY-ADD-ON-COIL ... 588320d431

Are these the ones you mean? Will these work on a 99 GV?

Cheers for the tip. Just got the call from the tyre guy and they fit, just! The rear mud-flaps have to come off and its pretty close on the front as well so will probably get front and rear spacers.

I think the rear coils in the GV's are tapered.

shoot a pm to Bruce as I'm pretty sure he makes spacers for the GV's
