Hey i am starting a GTI conversion into my sierra. It already has the 1.6 carbied fitted but i bought it like that. what do i need to do to convert it back to standard sierra gear. i know the adaptor plate will have to come off engine mounts but what else ?? thanks in advance jonny |

should only be the adapter plate and engine mount if its a ben t kit then bolt the 1300 in why do you want to go cack to a 1300 gti instead of g16b efi ? |

i can see both arguments however i have access to a really good deal on the GTI so im gonna take it and yes JR im gonna rebuild it first after your little ''Experience'' with s/h GTI motors lol |

Jonno, enough of the g13b worshipping. You're one of the only people here who sing it's praises. The majority agree through experience that the 1.6litre (both types) is a better performer. You're not assisting this bloke, so keep your dribble out of the thread. |

yeah eventually i need to build up my GTI motor and slot it in first. It's only done about 80'000 since a full rebuild by suzisport. Sierra is my daily so give it maybe 10 weeks and i'll have it done lol. How much is it worth to ya ? |

I've thought about that it would probably be easier just change heads and pistons over but aparantly its not that good ? is it any better than standard GTI form ? |

Hi Jonny ,no offence but i think your nuts. Why not sell the GTI and buy some injection for the 1.6.. |

Hahahahaha Kenn your not the only one. but seriously the 4wding i do is all sorta beach/dune work where a high revving wide powerband is a good thing, any thoughts on exhaust size ?? and for the life of me i just cant find a good 1600 efi setup with low k's |

imo if i bought one with a 1.6 in it i would go to a g16b. the twin cam is better on beach/mud and road than the g16b. it all depends on what u want.. edit if u do alot of beach work twin cam all the way! |

only if its a STOCK g16b in a sierra. seriously tho i know i love my g13b but on the beach/dunes that is where it REALY comes in2 its own! every where elce other than mud and the street the g16b would be better, but when you want ouright power and revs eg on the soft stuff.. gti all the way.. and to be honnest what the g13b lacks in so called "torque" it easly makes up for with 6.5s and a driver who is used to the car! beach and mud work is the reason i went gti.. something that can rev and take abuse... and other than buying 2 dodgey motors (before any one points that out) i have not looked back, the combo of 31's 6.5s g13b is great in my zook for tassie work.. |

i was impling more the g13b vs g16b i can tell u zook_fun has a stock sierra with a mk3 gti motor in it... and bar a 4wheeler it would be one of the best cars i have ever sceen on the dunes... |

hahaha this is hilarious the ever raging G13B VS G16B debate i think we all need to learn to give honest opinion but respect each others viewpoint as in terrain, driving style and off road to road work ratio. But seriously i know for a fact that both jonno_racing and joeblow can offer extremely accurate and usefull info and i respect both of your opinions so is that enough........ can we bury the hatchet ???? if not we can all agree on one thing EFI RULES hands down !!!!!!!! |

The 8 valve is more suited to forced induction from the research that i've done but otherwise I thought the tbi + 8 valve combo was the lesser of the 2 EFI G16s. |

johno, i do not understand you theory that you need high revs for sand. Thats all I wheel on, and revs for sand is a strange concept. Torque is what you need, torque will hold you there far far better than revs. In any application. |

not nesecerly high revs, but power and having revs to play with is where its atm imo are u telling me u putter about under 3000rpm on the dunes???? |
