I suk at searching via the search button, so I had a look around, have a read of this besides being a ripper build, it also speaks of engines.

Just to confirm, by ga16ba, do you acctually mean g16a or g16b?

Cos there's a big difference between the two...

Not too hard at all. U'll need an adapter plate between the engine and gearbox (BenT off this forum makes a nice one). If its a G16 carby engine you will just have to modify the stock 1.3 carby hat to suit. If its the EFI version u'll need a high pressure fuel pump, some high pressure fuel hoses and a bit of wiring work.

Don't be a hater, teh search works well, i was sure it was in the tech articles but couldn't get to it or find it so i searched for "g16" & "threads" by "zookernator" knowing the author helps cut it right down to a couple of threads.

lol knowing the words to use helps a lot, I didnt try the search, as it hates me, but I would have tried something like, g16 into sierra or 1.3 to 1.6 engine swap, whatever, and gotten no results.

Its all the fancy stuff thats different...

To go EFI you gotta do all the wiring, fuel system etc etc. A lot more work than bolting a carby motor in ;)

Sometimes more is less, especially if you know that thread exists. really this dribble should be in the Grimbo & the search function thread.

Sorry outram for taking this slightly off topic, have a read thru Zookernators write up & let us know if you need more info. Are you wanting to go EFI or stick with the carby 1.6?

The ones I have seen are a machined casting, same as the Sierra, and will probably be cast iron, not cast steel.

Your not going all ricer on us are you Stekky? Why you want lighter? Usually heavier makes for nicer offroading.

8O F*#k NO!!!!! 8O

Just a theory, I'm getting a vit box to go into Sully & don't want to loose the quick rev's of having the sierra flying wheel on the 1.6 but want the bigger clutch.. :P

Do us a favour and weigh the Vit flywheel and the Sierra flywheel. I bet the Vit one is a fackload heavier.

BTW, why can't you machine a cast iron flywheel?
