So i just put a 2inch body lift on my vit 94 swb and gears arnt selecting very well also the transfer keeps poping into 4h lol . how do i over come this problem without hacking away at my firewall????

and with the bars (back and front ) whats the best way to raise them?

You don't need to hack away at the firewall to fix the gear problem... Hack away at the transmission tunnel instead, it'll work better! Or I assume you could bend the sticks so that they don't foul on the tunnel anymore...

ive been trying to sort out the same thing without butchering the trans tunnel, if you put about 75deg bend in gearstick and fit backwards it works well, as for transfer i have a slightly bent extended stick at this point but i cant access 4L at the moment, if someone had a tip for that i would like to know that also

i just completed a bl on my 96 swb vit, i dont have to do anything for the gears dont know why or how but i dont. the boots are squashed but it only makes the shift smoother (stick hitting the boot absorbing the force)

i havent done the bumbers yet, but we managed to get the rear semi lined up, so i just to do the front.

ok, so wat i figured i could do is cut about of the boot claming plate and turn the boot upside down this has been proven to wrk and have tested it, (without the plastic covers over it) the transfer leaver seems to be alot shorted so may need to be extended.

As for the bars i haven't even looked at those yet but if i figure a way out i will post up some pics

Nice idea flipping the boots, never occured to me and would have saved a heap of work.

I found that the car would jump out of 2nd and reverse with the original covers on, and even without until I cut some of the tunnel away.

yeh mate all gd i jsut flipped all the boots and it worked a treat

flipped the boots as in turned them inside out? did u do this to both boots?

i shaved about 6-8mm of the bottom of the transfer case nob, stopped all my problems.

nah, you point them down towards the gearbox/xfer case instead of pointing up to the gear nob.

yeh exactly . i did trim them to but it didnt make a difference when i went to put the plastic covers back on.
