Anyone know if a brand makes a jerry can mount that attaches to the rear wheel hub, like a hilift jack mount? would be great

Other option is putting jerry can on roof rack, but looking for a more permanent solution

it would be nice to be able to bolt one to the spare wheel mount but it will be to much weight for the door, only real option is like you said roof mount or get a rear bar fabed up with jerry can holder

mic make a rear bar with a swing away tire carrier and a gerry holder, many have modified the gerry holder to attach to the tire carrie instead of on the tire. that looked like it was the best, but the mic bar is very pricey, im still saving.
also it is against the law to have a petrol gerry can protruding anwhere behind the last panel. so take that as you will.
where are you located?
how much fuel do you need between stations?
ive carried 2 gerry cans in the back when out on a hunting trip, was a bit fumey.

just remember legalities kristov, can be a big bang if you get rear ended with petrol can being the first thing taking the impact. insurance wont touch you, and if anyone gets toasted as a result,even if their at fault, you will be held liable for the non conforming BBQ.
same a lpg bottles on the back of caravans, its a big no no and will be a great big fine if not a really bad accident.

Maybe a future investment, for the moment roof will have to do for the jerry can i think

Thing to remember, the receiver hitch on hayman reese Jimny towbars are 40mm, not 50mm.... So that jerry holder wont work.

yeah just using it as an example, but not a bad idea to make use of the towbar, if your not towing.

I Believe its illegal to have fuel in a Jerry can beyond the body of the vehicle. or something to do with having it on the rear

yeah i cant imagine it would be the safest, ill stick to the roof i think,
Im in perth but going on trips, would be good to have a backup 20l.

Half the reason is also to make the rear of the jimny look a bit more boss, arb bullbar and spotties on the front look sick, but the rear needs some form of work. haha

I thought I would dig this up. I have the Rotopax fuel container. Slimline and modular. Apart from the price tag I have found these work very well but limited to 15lt. I am going to get another one and mount them together on the roof rack.
