Simple question with no doubt a simple answer...I couldn't find anthing on search On my Vitara SWB it doesn't look like the secondary is opening? With the engine off and stepping on the gas I get a good shot of juice from the primary, when the engine was running, I had the missus floor it breifly and I am getting no action from the secondary? (which has the larger bore diameter on the left) Am I missing something? At what point in the rev range, throttle position or vacuum pressure should I see the secondary open? I am sort of hoping it indeed is not opening and once I fix it I will have another 200hp available to use at my pleasure. Or ateast enough to do a little skid when out in the sticks! LMAO! Thanks guys, |

pull off the vacuum line and one way valve if equipped and hook the line up to a port on the manifold (not carby base)......run the motor and you will see if it works. |

Righto, I was checking this in the first place as my Vit struggles to get over 100km/h with the 235/75/15's on. Does this sound about right? It is real gutless on the highway... I will have a fiddle. |

I will have a fiddle. Hmmm, no it shouldnt be that gutless, even with 235's... i had 215x75R15's on my old 89 Carby Vit, if i planted my foot from 100kph, i could easily wind out to 140kph... sounds more like you need the carby tuned properly, or overhauled, makes a big difference, and when did you last check the timing ? |

Shit 140! I may get 110 on the flat. I better look at timing and you probably right, it may be worth a carbie kit. Thanks! |

buy a vacuum pump tester from supercrap and test it by connecting it to the hose and watch the secondary to see if there is a feaction. |
