So the time has come to redo my suspension as mine is now rooted. I'm looking at the ome's from lowrange, I can get them for $160 a spring including shipping. Is this alright, what has everyone paid for them here.
Secondly, the dakar springs only give 1.5 inches of lift so I was thinking about putting in a body lift as well. I really don't like the look of sierras that have been lifted to much for the tyres that they have. Because of this I was just going to put in a one inch body lift, but since the springs only give me 1.5 inches of lift should I go for the two or will that be overdoing it?
Will I need extended brake lines with 3.5 inches of lift on a WT sierra?

Are you getting dakar or OME springs??
Firstly, body lift is only useful to lift the body away from the chassis to allow extra room for tyres in my opinion. Depending on the size of tyre you wish to run there are other/better ways to make room for tyres.
Secondly I'm pretty sure you can get Old Man Emu springs from ARB for around the $120 mark, and with a bit of tweeking perform quite well.
Thirdly in my opinion its not the amount the car is lifted by that you should be looking at when buying springs, its their length. As the main reason for lift is to enable your wheels to move further from rest position and longer springs are whats going to allow that. Although I'd assume spring length is proportional to the amount lifted so the fact they only produce 1.5 inch of lift may go to suggesting they aren't as long.
I will be installing a 2' lift soon and will be getting extended brake lines, since the standard brake line length is only designed for the standard spring size.

What size tires are you planning to run?

You should be fine without the body lift I reckon. Just hammer the wheel arch seams flat, and adjust you bumpstops where necessary.

29" so 235/75 R15 tyres. You dont need a body lift then. Follow fatzooks advice. You also wont need to modify your bumpstops with that size tyre. Then ome 40mm springs will look in proportion with the tyres. I run them on my rig with 30's and a guard chop. Nice and low and stable with descent flex.

Righto thanks for your replies fellas. Looks like I'll just save my money and go with no body lift then and head down to ARB to get the springs!
