As I'm up for replacing my radiator due to a leaky core my mechanic has told me to replace as opposed to repair.

What are good brands of radiators? I've found SSS, Motorkool and Fenix on ebay. Are these reputable brands? What other good brands are out there? I know of PWR but they don't have a Grand Vit radiator listed.

I have a Suzuki Grand Vit 4cyl.

Cheers.

They only have one listed for the V6 GV and the older Vitara, not my 4cyl.

PWR dont do replacements, K&J do, which is the parent company PWR was born from

Calsonic is also a good brand, I would say those ebay names are made up for the sake of a name

SSS, Motorkool and Fenix are sold by Nationwide Radiators in Melbourne. Don't know if they are credible though.

SSS is from SSS auto parts up here in coopers plains.

Motorkool is from All Crash Parts where i work, we have three branches in brisbane, sydney and melb.

Im not sure about fenix.

The sss and motorkool are both aftermarket, same as dollarad, dolphin radiators. All the same qulaity and made the same way.

The most common reason for returns or warrenty claims is cracked side tanks and busted seams.

A warrenty is only available if fitted by a mechanic in shop and a full cooling flush must be done on the car.

SSS and Motorkool have the sierra rads in plastic/alloy and brass/copper.

Our website is http://www.allcrashparts.com.au/ and if you click order parts and miss the login part you can view the parts inventory.

Adrad is a well respected brand, well good enough to be used in porsche GT racing.

I had an Adrad alloy radiator, intercooler and oil coolers on my last car, mainly because they flow alot better than any other brand out there. It cost me a pretty pennie that's for sure.

What's the quality like compared to OEM or PWR (I assume PWR is considered a very good aftermarket brand)???

Ive never had anything to do with a pwr but being fully alloy there not in the same class as the aftermarket sss and motorkool. Price diffence is huge.

Yep. But the OP mentioned them, so I thought I'd add my 2 cents  They are a great product though. A mate has a PWR sierra radiator infront of a turbo 1.6 in his sierra and it stays stone cold on the hotest of summer days.

Where are the SSS and Motorkool radiators made? Are they at least OEM spec? The PWR does look like a very nice unit but yeah, maga $$$

Taiwan maybe, not exactly sure with city but somewhere over there.

Claim to be OEM replacement but not sure if there up to specs.

Post subject:  Re: Radiators brands - what are the good ones?

I've just been quoted $930 + freight for a GV V6 2.5L PWR radiator. Comes with a Stant cap. Not sure if they are good or not, although coming from PWR I assume they would be as I don't think they would provide a substandard product with their premium product. Not sure if it will fit my J20A radiator mounts though. Will have to measure it up. They do have one for the 1988 Vitara though.

EDIT: Just checked the SuziStore site. It appears both my SQ420 and the SQ625 have the same part number radiator: 17700-77E20N. Now that's interesting.

Wonder how the shroud and fan bolt up???
