Search eBay for racing seat I got a pair delivered for $220 look less Chinese than those and feel really good to sit in.
Yet to put them in the car but it looks like they will fit no problem.
Also they came with rails and mounting hardware.

Theres 2 types of autotechnica seats, theres ones that normally go on sale for $220 a pair(the ones pictured above), and theres a slightly better version which are on sale at repco now for $300 a pair.

The first pair (cheaper ones) are shit, the side ass supports at the bottom are way to high, and if you have any sort of lift in a sierra makes getting in and out of them really hard, prepare to crush the meat and 2 veg a few times. The second more expensive pair arnt so high and also have like a pleather insert stiched around the raised areas, so they dont eventually wear away from getting in and out all the time like the cheaper version do.

Supercheap is selling SAAS seats at the moment for less than $150 each, does anyone have any experience with these? Are they difficult to fit with regard to seat rails ad modifications? And will they physically fit or are they too wide? Or am I better off getting the autotechnica seats from repco for $299 a pair?

Do they look like this? If so then they wont bolt into a sierra. However, the same seat design manufactured by Autotechnica will bolt into a sierra with only two new holes drilled in the rails. I'm not sure about the ones on sale at Repco atm. You'd be best to measure the sierra seat rails then go and measure the seat in store to see if it will work.

Looks similar to that, not sure if it's exactly the same coz I've only seen them in the catalogue so far. Will they not fit at all or will they fit with some mods to the seat rails? I know the autotechs from repco ate pretty simple to fit, but I thought the SAAS ones might be a better seat

The seats will physically fit in a zook, and they are quite comfortable. But with the SAAS ones you will have to modify the seat rails because the hole spacing is different. I've got the autotechnica ones in my comp zook and am very happy with them. Very comfy and they hold you in well on the big angles

I have SaaS Seats. I had to plate and drill 2 sets holes in plate to adapt rails to seats. PITA as the holes are half under the rails and visa versa. Makes it hard to do with basic drills and bolts.. Mine are all countersunk.. Get Auotechnica ones. 100000000millions times better easy mounting.

Cheers guys. How do you find them for comfort and regular use, my Sierra is my daily, but the original seats are fucked, and I find I've got a sore back by the end of the week (old back injury doesn't help either).

Okay so the Mrs went to repco on her way home and checked out the seats, she was advised there that as long as it's a straight bolt in replacement with no modification needed then it shouldn't need to be compliance plated or anything. Is that what you were trying to say with the last post? If so then great, if not then can someone point me to a definitive answer? I've checked through a lot of stuff on the queensland transport website but can't get a straight answer. If it turns out they would need to be plated, where can I get info about getting them plated? Am I missing the link on the queensland transport website or is there somewhere else I should be looking, as one can imagine any google search containing gold coast regardless of what else is in the search terms turns up loads of unrelated stuff. Also, I apologise if I'm annoying anyone with silly questions, I don't want to go breaking any laws and void my insurance or something stupid like that.

They do tilt though like normal, and they tilt forward like every seat. But your rails are the mechanism that tilts and slide all the way forward

Yeah, I have the same problem with my drivers seat, in that it is too reclined and I have to lean forward to drive. If it's the seat rails that are causing the problem then I'll have to replace those too.
