Been hearing a bit about this lately. Is it worthwhile, cheaper, better or whatever? I have to do something with front axles soon, so may as well look into that while at it. not found much info locally, time to search wider. Any links, ideas or opinions welcome. cheers all christover |

unless you are running transfer gears and big tyres its not really worth it as it adds a lot of camber and castor to the front which is useless on a daily driver somebody either needs to make shorter Toyota driveshafts for it or machine sierra cromo cv's to seal in a vitara hub |

Actualy really just looking at options to shorten the driver side axle length, for a better fit to my stub axle conversion. Passenger side axle fits ok, but with not much room for movement. So best keep looking. Theres no doubt a shorter axle that fits stock cv 's somewhere in the world. |

They tell you how to make a stubby, too. Instead of an inch/25mm needed for the yota cv conversion, I could get away with 5mm to give stock vit cv a bit of breathing room. Already tried moving entire axle housing over, but no go. |

thats the mod that changes your camber and castor, as you move that point out you are moving the balljoint out (obviously to make it wider) that increases camber and also moving just one mount moves the balljoint forward, increasing the castor, only doing it to one side would also make it pull to one side dramatically are you sure you need the room? ive not heard of anyone having trouble with them hitting before (have seen the Toyota ones bust off their mounting bolts because the widening mod wasnt wide enough though) |

No not sure if I need more room yet, will take a closer look before doing anything drastic. Would only be doing 5mm and would do both sides. I do have camber adjustment bolts. But will also look into other options first. Doing my camber adjustment gave me a few mm extra today. It was way out due to me altering front height and travel. Steers better now, too. So I( will drop the 3 bolts and see if I got enough play to get axle out easily. Before camber adjust, i had to push top of strut reall hard to get it back into its holes, which pushed against diff/axle housing quite harshly. May be ok now, look again soon |

Bolts in cv housing are flatter heads. Only needed to gring head of lower axle housing bracket and a bit off the bracket. I think it will be fine, but like the widening idea, to fit taller skinnier tyres, and still keep track width, in the future. |
