Hey guys,
Ive got some common problems with the stock carb for my sj50. I've gone through the forum and have tried all the common tricks. Choke is working, and by working, I can see the butterfly is closed and opens as temp increases. carby has been cleaned,
problems: - prick to start when cold, upwards of 30seconds to a minute of cranking, and also having to manually choke airflow (snorkel) before it starts. - idles at 1500rpm average - cant even think about driving before shes reached temp. - only happened twice, but pulled up to lights, kicked it out of gear and the revs dropped through the floor and stalled.
This weekend I'm going to check valve clearances and timing, other than that its got me stumped. I would love to do the carolla swap, just dont have time/funds this month.
I appreciate any help given, starting to annoy the neighbours trying to start the thing at 0530!
