I got a 1.6 tbi swift engine in my shed trying to put in my zook wondering what people have done about the distributor cause i have the 90 degree angle drive but it's not going to work as the 1.6 dizzy is to sort. i am kinda stuck of what to do, should i be thinking about cutting onto the fire wall (kinda don't wont to) or is there another option or should i just cut the whole idea of doing this conversion?

AFAIK they are. Just the distributor arrangement would be different. Pretty easy to wire up aswell.

yer kinda didn't want to cut into the fire wall but if that is going to be the only way well i better get out the grinder. the coolant lines are allso in the way but that is easy causr i can fab up a 90 degree flange for it at work.

All that 1.6 has is a reluctor for the ECU pickup. It looks exactly the same as whats in a stock 1.3 dizzy.

Different things that do a similar job. The reluctor is also known as a VR sensor, VR meaning variable reluctance.

hey bails. as joe seems to have a good supply of alloy and the tools to machine it, he fabbed up a housing that bolts to the rear of the head and accepts the thermostat housing and temp sender

what he said.....and top pick shows angle drive in the vehicle. 1.6 tbi uses same internals as the 1.3 dizzy.

well unless joe wants to chime in and shed some light i would say screw the 1.3 dizzy in with the vit cam and angle drive you have and see if it runs.

yer tried that, the 1.3 is too long, but could be cut down i guess.
