[Built4thrashing]

The Gv has developed a timing chain noise. how do i fix it. wasn't this noisy last week. It had a noisy lifter but went away after it ran for some time. How do i fix this noisy timing chain.

Run an engine oil flush and repeat every service, use a light weight oil.
I use diesel engine oil and Service it religiously my h20 has 270000 klms and doesn't make a sound except for a sticky lifter after not running for a couple days.

It's a ratcheting tesioner. Just needs a little help.

The H20's have a "modified" tensioner you can get from suzuki, it replaced the ole one when they were still in wty, if you buy a new one you get the modified one..

The ratchet teeth are to far apart form them to adjust easily, so we help em by giving em a lil drive..

Ok makes sense. So if one of these engines are babied their whole life they will have a noisier chain than one that's been driven harder?

They like to work, but saying one will be better than the other??Can't answer for sure, but regular servicing with flush & not skimping on oil is a MUST!!!

Thay used what was learned from the H20's, but still not enough as far as I'm concerned..even the H27's in the Jb's do it..

Yeah I have learnt/learning to live with mine I always drive mine hard now noise has quietened a lil but not much regular oil also helps

hard rev under load did the job. all quiet now.
