Pitman arm puller. Bearing puller. Hyd bearing puller. Tapping whith a hammer helps with these options Heat also helps with these options Or if you have a spare off already, grind a slot in the shit one, Then BFH |

Get a heavy lump hammer and hit the edge of the pitman arm around where the tappered shaft of the ball joint is. Don't hit the joint, just hit the end of the pitman arm. The shock loading may free it up. You won't need to put your back into it, but 10 or 20 good firm hits should see it come free. If that fails, you'll need a tie rod puller |

OH i read it as pitman arm. LOL Normally a big bit of bar down through engine bay and a good hammer will knock it out. May damage thread alittle if your hitting the thread. but its just the end. Fix with a file. |

At $52 you might be better off getting a bearing puller, they arent much more and are more flexible. I used borrowed one several times when doing my power steering. did the job well. |
