hey guys having some issues im assuming is the carby, when i start the car it wont start till i add revs, if i dont keep the revs up at least 1.5 it cuts out. so i fiddled around (without changing stuff) and it then started up and jumped aroun 2 to 1.5 revs

any idea's, we thought mabey the fuel filter has clogged and its struggling?

thanks guys

Sounds like the idle jet is blocked, happens heaps in zooks. A good carby clean sounds in order. For the high idle you have now, check you dont have any vacuum lines off and the throttle cable isnt snagged on anything. Basically go over what ever you changed before.

Layto....

I'd be swapping leads 2 & 3, firing it up and letting it backfire a bit (say 30s at 1800rpm) then putting the leads back to normal and seeing if that fixes it. Solves most carby problems by burning fuel as it's coming through the jets.

Then again someone might say that's a nasty way to treat a carby :p

Aisin Carbs need to be punished every now and then. I had to smother mine earlier in this year :)
