I was thinking about it a while back. I was looking at a Toyota S/C14 which is the one off a 4AGZE. They are common on eBay for around $250 - $350 mark.

You can have these with a switch to turn them on / off like Mad Max if you run a electronic clutch pate from a AC compressor.

The issue is fuel. You need to deliver more fuel when on boost. Apart from a full after market Microtech or similar computer setup you may be able to run a EFI Vitara Motor with the large round plunger type airflow meter on the side of the airbox then putting in the yellow injectors and just plumbing it all up. You can really suck the juice down with this setup, I know cauz when I did my EFI conversion I had this setup and the airflow meter was jammed hard on, I was useing like 20L per 100km with tonns of black smoke out the back.

If you running a carby then I probably wouldnt bother. You really need the 16V engine as I think the compresson ratio is lower as well as better head and ports etc. There are a number of people who have done turbo setups on Vits before but Ive never seen a blower done, thats partly why I was thinking about it.

Let me know how you go..

Here is one I found on eBay as I said they are common on there.

SC 14 is too large for a vitara , SC 12 would be better , Cheers Paul.

Yeah you can but you'll need a right angle adaptor for the distributor so it doesn't hit the firewall.

so you can just bolt the gti head on to the 8v 1.6 virtara block so long as you use the virtara angle dizzy adaptor?

no its a special made one to fit, $500 odd IIRC
heard rumours the 16v 1.6 head flows better anyway

japanese 8v vitaras and some swifts had efi as well, might be worth looking for some and fit that

I'm running a 8v inlet manifold on my G13, it bolts straight on. Exhaust manifold will bolt to the head too, but the downpipe flange is different, instead of using that I drilled & tapped the stock manifold for the O2 sensor. Also made a blanking plate to block off the hole for the fuel pump. You will have to fabricate something for the air cleaner though, I haven't figured an easy way to do that. I ended up putting the stock air cleaner on the passenger side of the engine bay and using the stock Vitara crossover pipe + a fabricated piece to join them up.

Can't help you with wiring, i'm not using stock ECU.

I bought the 1.6L throttle body injector setup and intake manifold from suzisport. That will get you your efi on the 8v block. Problem is that with the stock ecu you still wont deliver any more fuel. You'd need to go aftermarket ECU I think.

efi would be much better. wouldn't waste my time with a gti head or a supercharger.
