If so do you have any tips or problems when it came to valve timing/timing belt setup?

Yeah many have done it before though I am not one of them so can't help you with detail. I do remember something about a porsche timing belt though... A good one is Dave loftus's race starlet.

Can I ask why you guys went this way though, what is it for? It is only a stroke increase on a 4a and so while you will gain a bit of capacity there is a loss of 'revyness'. Also on a budget 4agze would have a lot more more power and with forged pistons as standard you can go a turbo upgrade and get a LOT out of it without even having to open up the engine.

You got me interested so I googled it. They use a Porsche 924 or 44 timing belt. Has to be 117 tooth. Here are some interesting links.

True with a built engine (though it is still higher then a 4agze). With boost and 7a stock internals I think you would see problems before you got anywhere near 4a-gte power (for the same money). Just depends what you are using it for?

Skelaaleks mentioned build so I am guessing you are going forged internals? or at leas gze pistons?

its going into a ke76 corolla.
the car is a weekender/track/drift car.

we had forged rods but then my mate sold them.
he is going to get another set.

i know that the bolts in the rods need to be replaced with studs(my mate rekons that the bolts strip the threads in the rods if reved hard

mods to the motor will be
7ae block
4age head
4age pistons
7ae rods
everything balanced
port mach everything
adjustable cam pulleys(needed for the different head)
quad throttle bodies
aftermarket ecu

for the moment it will be n/a
but mostlikely be turbo charged after about 1 year or running.
