will give the turps a burn first,got some spare black paint that can go over them anyhow
thanks guys,will try both.the way its on there im not sure if turps will kill it or not but worth a go

sooooo guys,i am about halfway through my spring upgrade (ome 40mm rears + standard RUF) and have found that the lovely rears that were in it seem to have the larger bushings ATTACHED!!! have drilled most of it out but cant reach the edges where it is still clinging onto the bare metal for dear life,anybody have experience here?failing that what would eat rubber away whilst not touching the metal? |

Turpentine works well on rubber... And won't do a thing to metal, although it might not be good for any paint that is on the metal... |

It might take a while for the turps to eat the rubber, but it will happen eventually... Petrol will do much the same... |

Is it a metal sleeve type bush, as I don't think you need to re-use the metal sleeve. If it is, you should be able to screw it up, to hack it out. Spent all day on one bush, on a mates Drover one day. |

If its a polyurethane bush though, forget solvents, go the fire or hacking it out... |

can you get a hacksaw to chop the larger outer "flange" part of the bush off, that should release it or use the turps & set fire to it.... |

ahhh christover i think you are onto something my man,can anyone confirm if i need the metal sleeve again?if not hacksaw + screwdriver + TLC will get that out far easier than the rubber! ben,petrol has the added bonus that if i get bored waiting for it i have a lighter! muahahaha
atari i think it will have to be fire if i need that sleeve. id go grinder but would have some trouble getting it inside the eye... |

negative but the smaller eyes have run without the sleeve the whole time,the bigger bushes are like some alien object,nothing like the ones i bought at all but right size |

ahhh chris that would explain to me why they are stuck i think il cut first ask questions later.worst case scenario il just buy some new springs if i screw these ones too badly hahaha

Yes, both my original rear springs (which are now in the front) had these rubber bushes with the metal sleeve. Christover cut one out and I did the other but hes forgot about it by now..... |

thanks neo  confirmed,the metal sleeves were not needed! bushes fit nice and snug without them now i just have to reverse the rear spring mount because my shackles have reversed 
would do extended shackles but the rear sits perfect with the ome's  need same ride height,less spring up front
