Last night I spent a bit of time looking up images on Google for internal cages/bars etc for design inspiration for my zook's 'in case I crush my head' saver... I found a few, but for the long time spent yielded minimal 'good' results (plus I got so side tracked looking at other stuff on the US zook sites!)

So, anyway ... who's got pics of their hard top zooks with spiffy internal roll cages 8) (or even softies... Steve I've seen yours) More importantly, the design of them (4 or 6 point?) material thickness, mounting & reinforcements areas, etc etc. I have a fair idea of what I want & where, but some input from others won't go astray :D And PICS! I want PICS!!

Cheers........ :D

cool four1wd! That's pretty similar to what I had in mind, minus the cross bar, but that might be a possibility anyway depending on what tube is decided...

I wasn't going to go through to the front of the vehicle either... but do you have any pics of that area too?

Much appreciated :)

Jo

PS I would come to QLD to have a look, but I don't have a boat!

i only have a shot of front upright bar
you can buy an aluminium 4 point bar cheap
i just sold mine for $90.00
to race up here the bar has to be a minimum of 4 point that runs from
the hoop forward into the cab
mine has the upright running up the side
of the dash and a crossbar above my head
i didnt realise you were so far away
if you need details call steve and he will give you craigs details
and he will give you the bar sizes

ok, cheers :) This is getting custom built, so not needing a pre-made. I don't intend on doing comps (basically not interested but there aren't many here anyway) so will see if full cage is really necessary, &/or 6 point when I talk to my guy who builds offroad racers, he should have a fair idea for some designs anyway. It's mainly strength & placement... I still want to get in & around the thing. But that might be a challenge 8O

Does anyone sell a pre bent kit for hard or soft tops?
I can weld, but not bend...

Go to trade tools and buy an elcheapo bender and get some dawn dies, standard ones fuck the pipe. If I can bend a dirty old bit of pipe any one can.
