| Post subject: | Centre Locating Bolt |
Hey all I have had to replace my Centre Locating Bolt 2 times over the last 6 months or so. I just assumed it was because I am a little ruff on the gears. But When I went to put a new one in today I saw this: This thing is completely split down the center:
And it is also worn heaps where the Centre locating bolt slides through the thingy. (Really don't know the jingo)
I do not know what this thing that is broken is called. But I would like to know what it is called, If this is having any impact on the centre locating bolt breaking so quickly. And where I can go to get a new one. |

there are 2 types, you have to get teh right diameter bit that sticks out or it could do that |

Ummm know I cant get any better pics. Gear Stick: (With random broken thing circled)
Goes into here:
"Centre Locating Bolt" (What me and my brother call it) then goes through here:
And into here:
Best description I can give When that bolt snaps, the gear stick moves EVERYWHERE even whilst in gear. |

I am sure it is the right diameter (Are you talking about the end of the bolt without thread) Because when my brother first broke it he took the bolt out and took it into the Suzimotive in Cairns and Dez gave him the exact same one back. And the first time it happened he didn't realise what was wrong with it. So drove it for quite a while with a snapped Bolt. So could that have been what wrecked it? |

Yeah, not sure how it split the gearstick but you have to get another whole one, did you put any lube on it last time so it can slide up and down easily ? |

I think the bolts broke because there was soo muc lee-way for it to move around and gradually wear out enough to snap? |
