Can I remove my sun visors, or are they a legal/RWC requirement?

I don't think i've used mine once since owning the car, and now they're mouldy and splitting and look like puss. I'd rather just ditch them if I can.

Funniest dodgy fab upholstery I've ever seen was two kids pencil cases.. One zipped over each sunvisor.

Ive put hilux visors in mine, looks alot neater and their the perfect size.
