the main reason is that you use a hammer to take apart the uni section but you need to do so without bending the yoke or tailshaft sections, this will wreck your new uni joint and defeat the puprose of replacing it.
you've also gotta keep everything in line when you put it all back together and mark the tail shaft and diff and transfer case flanges so it all lines up the way it was when you took it out.
ive done easily 100 uni joints now and i still have fuck ups with them, its something that took me a while to do and i do it for a day job. if your sierra isnt your daily driver then maybe yea give it a go, jump on ebay and grab a uni joint kit for $15 and have a go, try looking for a guide on doing them, they're all done the same way no matter what car.

Mate if you have done 100 and you still have trouble you are the slowest learner in the world, it is a basic job that any first year apprentice would do. Re-ballance a drive shaft after changing uni's you are kidding. I wish people with no mechanical skill or experience would stop trying to give advice. On the 27th of May 2010 you posted that you purchased your first Suzuki and in fact your first 4x4 and already you have changed over 100 uni's not a bad effort.
