Post subject:  ARB Locker Air Line

and so i was making brm brm noises and pushing the car around the back yard and the arb air line was hanging down on the ground and went under the wheel and snapped in half.

.... and i need to make the rear air line longer because it's in the lwb now, so the question is,

Can you buy lengths of the blue air line and and fit it yourself to the diff end and stick the thingy on the compressor end? or do they come all ready made up? and are there better places than arb to get this stuff from?

cool, you can show me!

I could probably just use te the rear length on the front and get a new length for the rear.

yeah you have to buy a full kit with new fittings and stuff, somebody has one spare but they probably want to keep it for casper

or you can change to more common 6mm and quick release fittings both ends, fair bit cheaper and fixable, I'll just have to find where I wrote down what bits you need

Don't think I have the blue line Royce. I keep the 6mm black stuff and some spare fittings but I think I gave (I know I know) the blue line to Jock for some reason. I'll look tonight Steve and see what I have. If I have it you can have it. :-)

Today i pulled the line fittings apart. The brass tube thing is broken in half and there was a hole in the air line, i was wondering where the leak was. This happened after a log jammed up under the car.

the brass braking is common aprently, the little round brass bit is also throwaway once it has been used

Post subject:  Re: ARB Locker Air Line

ahh yeah, tried to get the round brass this back on the tube but it seems impossible, it must get squashed or something when it's tightened up?

I think they call that bit an Olive, in Plumbing

Post subject:  Re: ARB Locker Air Line

got em  even found some metal quick release fittings out there that I'd never seen before

for those that are interested, the little adaptor bit on an airlocker that screws into the bulkhead fitting that the hose then attaches too is 3/8" UNF thread

a normal brass compression fitting for 3/16 nylon tube os also 3/8" UNF

so if you get a brass fitting to join 2 3/16" tubes together and one for 3/16" tube to 1/8"BSP you can change to more common 3/16" nylon tube on airlockers, which is about $1 a metre not $55837575 from ARB

or 3/16" tube to whatever BSP will give you a normal bsp fitting on your diff to run whatever hose you want :)

the only bit i understood was that you got them

I'm putting the diffs in the white suzi. I put the compressor in yesterday.

Post subject:  Re: ARB Locker Air Line

just nod and pretend, thats what everybody else is doing

theres enough to do both diffs I reckon, I spose you need some thread tape too

parting out the LWB? I'll give you $100 for the rest of it :)

Post subject:  Re: ARB Locker Air Line

nope! (not yet)

I just thought there's no point having air lockers sitting in it being wasted. (so i took the front airlocker out and put the auto locker in it hehe)

All the good stuff will be on the white one until the lwb is up and going, which could be years. I'm not in any rush now.

so now the white one has airlockers youll put some longer shackles in just for a bit more lift

then youll fit 31's for a bit more clearence

then put the s3 in cause its there

then youll need an exo to stop it getting smashed up

elmo MKII :)

I think you should trade the white one on a vitara
