ive got a 85 sierra with a 1 litre motor and the radiator has had it. now i have found radiators on ebay that say from 82 till 96 yet they say there are for a 1.3 litre motor for $208 so i emailed the company asking for the price of a radiator for a 1litre and they came back with $293

so my question is , is will a 1.3 litre radiator be a straight bolt in to a 1 litre motor?

no it won't be a straight bolt in fit. but with a few "minor adjustments" it will fit. 1.3 radiator is slightly taller so has a little more capacity which is a good thing.
from memory I had to redrill the mounting holes in the radiator brackets aswell as cut out a notch in one of the brackets for the overflow bottle mount.

also note the fan shroud will not fit, you could probably stuff around and get it to fit but it didn't just bolt up so I never bothered.

If you are looking at 1.3L radiators, PM want33's His are around $200 and work well in a 1L.

i like to over compensate for thing that keep my motor from blowing up, if you have to change mounts i would just go to a 1.6 vit rad.....

I do like your theory, but it's a tight fit with the std box, & if wanting to bolt on vit p/s later you'd just have to remount the thing again..
When I mounted up the swb rad I had, I decided against running it for that reason..

i think i might just stick with the 1 litre radiator make it a bit easier.. once that is in the car will almost be ready to be regoed
