Hi all,
My 1L Zook is running a bit rich I think. Exhaust pipe is black and I can smell petrol quite often. How do I go about ajusting the mixture?
On top of the carbie, there is what I think is the mixture screw but it just spins around...it's like a cylindrical cup with a little button in it.
Second question. I have a tray back...behind the cab on the passenger side is a plastic bottle with a pipe from the fuel tank and another coming from the charcol canister in the engine bay. What's that for and is it necessary?
Cheers,
Michael

the mixture screw there is only for idle, it has a cap to prevent it being adjusted that can be prised off easy enough
the main mixture is set by the jets, if they carby is clean, the plugs leads and points are all good check that the choke isnt stuck on
the plastic bottle is part of the system that prevents fuel vapour from venting to the world and is required and illegal to remove

Rust Royce! Two small rust holes on the side I coudn't see - therefore I could smell petrol. Tank is stuffed.
Tomorrow I check the points etc. (spent today replumbing the spare fuel tank).
Cheers,
Michael
