I got a set of 235/75R15.

They are a good tyre for the money, bit of a winne (compared to my HT's). But good grip on road, and decent off road, yet to test them out fully off road.

Never had a problem with the ones i had on my sierra... Teamed then fairy well.. Was really good on rock and in mud..

Bit of an iffy feeling after reading some of the reviews..

Good website though.. Gives a good indication of what's good out there.. No ones rated/reviewed the maxxis bighorns yet.

i have a set for my vitara. they are a decent cheap muddy. i bought them in 235/75/15 for $189 each which from what i have found is pretty cheap for them.

i like their narrowness so if you think you might have an issue with a wide tyre they could be a good option. They are not too noisy at all just a quietish hum on the freeway. They seem to clean out the mud pretty well as the tread blocks are tapered.

They havent let me down yet but i have never had anything else to compare them to and i would have only done a bit over 1000kms on them (i use them as a second set).

the splitting of the side walls......

It seems to happen over the whole range.. Had a look through at the sizes that were affected.

I tried them a few years back on a work car, had two delaminate within 6-8 months. they had done about 35,000kms by then
I might just have been unlucky, they gripped well though in the mud but I think there is much much better tyres for on road with better offroad performance.
I'd buy bighorns for the money they are much better all round.

Do you think it would be a problem on such a light car tho?? :?

haven't had any problems with them on my sierra ute. grip great, nice aggressive look and I don't have any problems with their on road performance.

I'd definately buy them again.

well probably no.. Not if you were just using them on the road.. But seeing as they would be purchased to use off road and at lower pressures then i think that the problem would arise.. I know mine use to bag well and mound around rocks etc.. So imo that would put stress on the join points.

i think the problem with sidewalls is probably more to do with people using tyres past their use by date and the yanks who run on them on their massive trucks. If i remember correctly they are on to the second series the FCII.

some say they arent great in the wet but i reckon they are fine i prefer them better to my road tyres. i tossed up between bighorns and the couragias but thought they couragia looked more agressive so thought id give them a go and im not disappointed
