I Knowthere is a thread about this,but I can't find it.

Me car idles up when lights or heater fan are switched on.

I played with the thingy on the front of the carby, but to no avail, I screwed it in as far as the spring will allow, should I have screwed it the other way.I worried that the spring would not hold tension on the bolt, and it might fall out.

When you turn you fan or lights on it's meant to idle up.

I had my lwb carby rebuilt and dynotuned, and it doesn't do it.

No it's meant to idle up. On the front of the carb there is a Solenoid(Idle up switch) that pushes in and adjusts the idle (I know someone here can explain better than me) Go start your car, get someone to turn your lights on and watch it.

it idles up to keep because it needs to, the lights and fan draw power and wile your on idle id wont give out enough juice so it idles up

That explains it perfectly. (Bruce does Tech again! 8O )There will also be a 2nd Idle Up Switch fitted with Aircon, which does the same thing when the compressor kicks in and the car is idling.

Read a bit more about the carb HERE. The Idle Up system is on Page 9.

The idle up is controled by a solenoid, that allows manifold vacuum to flow to a vacuum pot on the front of the carby. This vacuum pot acutates on a lever attached to the throttle shaft. Screwing the adjuster screw in will raise the idle up speed. From memory when the idle up is off the stopper doesn't touch the plate. Usually there is the adjustment screw, which has a lock nut on it to stop it vibrating loose when its not in use. You should have approx 1000~1100 idle up when electrical load is applied.

yea i had it done off anderson st

Am I to expect some problems with the battery sometime, I rearly drive it at night, but have the lights on when it's raining.

It was done about a year ago (5,000 K), and all's sweet so far
