Post subject:  Standard sierra. Chassis height
Hey yall,

I've been trying to find the stock height from the flat ground to the bottom of the lowest point of the chassis 100x50 box tube of a stock sierra.

11" comes to mind, but im not sure still.

Needs stock tyres, stock springs, stockish weight.

Any help would be great, thanks.

Just measured my stock coily = 256mm to the chassis

See if this makes sense Dan...
Transport Tas measure height from centre of axle to under guard.
They have Sierras listed as - Front 425mm, Rear 460mm.

Mine measure - Front 460mm, Rear 490mm.
My bumpstops are - Front 50mm, Rear 80mm.

If you take 25mm off the ride height (for my body lift) you get -
Front 435mm, Rear 465mm.

So... stock bumpstop heights according to Transport Tas should be -
Front 40mm, Rear 75mm.


*None of my bumpstops have been extended. Bumpstop and guard heights had to be averaged left to right to account for the Sierra lean :wink:

260mm from the ground to the section of chassis that runs below the doors - lowest point.

40mm from bump stop to pad both ends

Mine is 570mm atm 8O :lol:

Rolling chassis, no weight or anything on top yet. Fully inflated, prob overinflated new 35's...

(no higher than Marts or zookers zook :) )

Damn thats high!

My '91 SWB WT bog-stocker is 240mm at the lowest chassis point.

My maruti is 450mm to the lowest point of the chassis section (front hanger for rear springs, below the door).
This gives it a height of 650mm at the rear of the chassis.
Sagged SPOA, stock shackles on 33" silverstones.

Are you increasing the width?

Hell yes! If all these nsw rules come through, i hope for the springs to sag 50mm when fully loaded, eng, gbox, cage etc, then i can move the coil hats up on the chassis to get to the 150mm max height on 35's. Completely unloaded, im 160mm too high.

Like i said, MARTS is loaded to the max, and sat this high..

But then i may need to get 33's max size for lux diffs with this shit new rules.. :evil: :evil: :evil:
