the breather was already there from factory. all you have done is extend it up higher to stop water ingress and put a fliter on the end. either your mechanic doesn't have a clue or he's trying to rip you off. either way don't go back to him again, unless it's to tell him how useless he is!!! |

As others have said its not pressure in the diffs, tho there will be a vacuum to some extent when a hot diff is immersed in cold water thus the theory of it sucking water in through the breather/seals etc |

some military vehicles run low pressure into diffs etc, to help keep water out...but not a zook |

you also need a new mechanic.... we all know that headlights don't have fluid, it's the blinker fluid that needs replacing.

I did that once, he responded with half of the shit you read on the internet is bullshit the other half are lies. I kindly said well I think I'd rather take advice from 7 other people that have been there, done that, have had the same issue, fixed it and know more about this model of car than you. He wasn't too impressed, a few other words were exchanged but I never returned. |
