Whats the best way to remove the old sill panel, so you get a nice tidy flat surface to mount the checkerplate? |

You can use a special drill bit used for spot welds. It will make no holes in the panel if used properly or you can do it a bit rougher and use a grinder. If you searched you would find a few threads about this already. |

Drill out spot welds, grind/smooth surface of dags. Remove rust then use a zinc primer. Then predrill plate for rivets glue plate with sikaflex then rivet it on. Then seal all edges . |

i learnt a tip from 2stroker where you dont seal the bottom edge, just incas moisture gets in through the top it can get out through the bottom, but will still stop any mud or anything getting it. good to try it |

Bingo, you will still go all the way through from time to time, but it's a shit load less messy then a normal drill of a grinder.. |
