Hey everyone,
Just recently my 99 model Jimny has a issue with coolant.
It leaks out of the overflow hose.
The temp gauge never moves from normal position.
I had the top chamber replaced last March.
I even replaced the radiator cap 2 days ago thinking the cap might be faulty but it's losing pressure somewhere else so my radiator keeps getting drained of it's yummy green stuff.
So what do ya reckon.

are 99 model jimny's suppose to have a overflow bottle??? cause the sierra do, so i would say a jimny would. mabey yours is missing
because the water will overflow when its boiling into the overflow bottle,
"this is what the radiator cap is designed to do so pressure does not build up too much in the cooling system".
but when the car cools the coolant can be drawn back into the radiator. Other wise yes you will be spilling your coolant everywhere and not collecting it back up like it should be.

check the clutch/viscous fan hasn't leaked some of it's gizzard's out..

Sorry mate, I should of said in my original post that the coolant flows out of the overflow bottle hose.

Hey checked the fan, no problem there just a slight little movement between the fan and the inner part.
Do you think it could be the thermostat?

Normally would happen quite quickly after start up, but that said could be sticking part way open.
When you say you checked the fan, did you spin it?? hot & cold??
another way to check is get the car to operating temp u rev the eng up & down, you should be able to hear the fan dragging (pulling lot's of air), then as the fluid in the clutch get's hot it will start slipping ( not pulling much air), if you can't pick the difference i would be thinking it's weak.
do you do a lot of 80-100 driving??

Hey everyone.
Sorry for asking so much about this issue.
I need to drive me jelly bean to Soundwave in Shitney on Sunday so I don't want no major dramas especially on the way home late at night.
Could it be a faulty thermostat like sticking half way,or could it be a sign that the head gasket is about to blow, or is it me water pump ,or last of all could the timing be out of sync.
Any help with this issue would be really appreciated AZ.

Yeah I do about 40 k's a day travelling at 80 to 100 kph.

I'm inclined to think it's the fan or partially blocked radiator..

It is worth pulling the thermostat out & checking it, but I like to replace em if out, even if it does work..

Hey AZ.
Now this issue is really starting to shit me to tears. The coolant is real reluctant to stay in the radiator and then it overflows out of the overflow bottle. I had the clutch fan looked at by a radiator pro and he says It's fine so I replaced the thermostat and I still have the problem.
So do you think it could be a partially blocked radiator.
I've had it pressure tested so surely the head is ok. I'd be really pissed if its the head considering
I got the head reconditioned only 23000 klms ago when I got the motor rebuilt.
What ya reckon AZ, I'm losing faith in this car real quick.
