Hey all The zook is running really rich. This is the first time i have started it with a new fuel pump in it. It is a much higher flow rate etc as im getting all the bits ready for the engine and turbo converison. Is this fuel pump the reason its running rich? Isnt there a regulator or something on these motors? I chucked the old pump so i cant put it back in to see if this fixes anything Any ideas? Thanks |

if the pump is flowing that much that there is too much left over for the regulator to pass and becomes a restriction it could do, though it would have to be a pretty massive pump I would think |

What pump did you put in it? The return line could be posing a restriction. It ceases to amaze me how many ppl go overboard with their fuel pumps, hell even the stock one or VL would be more than enough for the mild turbo conversions! |

I actually copied oozuk. The one he listed in his buildup is the one i used. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Walbro-GSS342-Fu ... 27b793e6b2 The return line is the standard metal one on the sierra. The stock pump is a swift in tank pump to suit the 1.6. Any suggestions? |

from memory , the standard fuel pressure on a 1.6 swift is about 26 psi , i use the same pump in my swift running 45 psi fuel pressure . you going to need a decent fuel pressure reg and some bigger return lines . thats a massive pump for a single point injected engine. |

Swap the charcole canister pipe with the orrigional return line to give you the propper 6mm return pipe back to the tank. Then all you need to worry about is the 4mm fitting going into the tank. Just swapping this pipe will help though, remember to swap it at the back of the car aswell or it gets messy. |
