What model, what size donk, what mods, what speed. 250 is pretty low. Open road, I get about 10 liters per 100 kilometers, is in essence, I should, from full to dead empty, get 400k, never dun that but. When out playing, struth, well less than half that. |

it's hard to tell exacly: speedo, odo and tachometer don't work properly. however, i estimate fuel consumption at about 11-12 l / 100km for a 1.6 vit carby engine in my sierra, i wish i had a efi |

At $1.36, average, that means you are getting around 5 liters per hundred kilometers, by crikey, tell ya what, dont tell the fuel companys, they will be out hunting you with a dirty great big gun. What are you driving, a prius. No way on earth would a 4wd brick, get that, even if dropped from a helicopter with the engine turned off, gathering ks. |

Awww, I wanted to stir. Ha ha Since the K&N filter, exhaust install, LPG retune, and new oils everywhere I reckon 100km = about 10.5L of LPG. I'm spewing LPG was 60c in december, but I gotta pay 68c now... it used to cost me $6/100kms |

thanks for your help guys. its just a stock as a rock 98 Coily. nar tercius it was a bit to expensive for me and i got my coily for $1000 cheaper =) i dont think i would often go over quarter throttle. i just didnt think it sounded right that a 1.3 zook would use $50 of petrol to 250ks =S |

In my experience with high consumption its usually to do with incorrect float heights in the carb, or a dirty air filter. Give the carb a good clean out and reset the float to factory and give it another shot. |

I bloody knew I shoulda been flogging the thing! Pity it blows smoke on the changes when I go too hard I did just bolt my original engine to the engine stand ready to start taking apart though! |

Hmm if its stock you should be seeing a bit more... Try what shep says, also a good tune up may not go amiss... |

Check if the choke flap is full open once its warmed up. Does it run sweet? |

I think i have petrol issues too then... I have LWB sierra 1.5 toyota 5k engine 31x10.5 tyres the usual 2" lift and 2"BL everything else is pretty much normal. I'm getting 200 - 220kms per tank?!? Prior to my carby rebuild i was getting around 180 so i thought this was an improvement? do you think it can be anything else? Will the fuel pump/fuel filter play a part in this? Cheers. Andrew |

Andrew if you have 31" tyres with stock gearing you will never get good fuel consumption. it is the same as if i put 38" tyres on my toyota and expected there to be good fuel consumption. also because the speedo will be around 20% out, 100km on your odo is really 120km. |

You can't expect too much from an old carby engine. I'm getting 270k's to a tank with a big dent in it. Thats with 32's x 10.5's, 6.5's and 1.6 carb motor. |
