hey am thinking bout buying a 1990 vitara with a shatterd block, to my knowldege this means it need a new engine, (correct me if im wrong please), posted a wanted add on interweb and got it as a reply, owner isnt been very discriptive, but seems quite cheep it is licensed, and in good nick from the look of the one pic, its a soft top. just want3d to no what people would pay for this, how hard the engine swap is and what u would be looking at for the engine, ive heard somthing about using swift engines as they just bolt in any idears..... would love any feed back... as i need to get back to this guy
thanks troy

mate if the engines block is smashed its probably a safe bet the car has seen some abuse and the rest could be in need of some TLC, yes it will need a new engine, if you get the same engine the swap wont be difficult. i wouldnt offer much for it. check the condition of the rest of the car.

whats a new soft top worth for em this is aparently in good condition exterior and exteriour, block told me he wnated 1000 for it but stressed it is negotiable, recons the suzuki store offerd him 775 for it seems like a bit of an odd number, just to give ya a lil more detail i am looking at it as a first car, have a fair few mechanicaly minded people around me that i recon i could con into helping me with it. haha, i have a reasonably small budget about 1500 bucks possibly a bit more but that includes the new engine. any idears about how easy the engines are to come by price any information realy, NOTE I DO LIVE IN WA. ive noticed things tend to be a lil more here than eastern states...
again any feedback would be greatly apreciated

the picture of the car seems quite neat and tidy, and the bloke says its in good condition in and out side, so im guessing not much rust, recon its worth having a look at, sorry for the stupid questions btw.

price seems ok, make him an offer, if all it needs is a new engine and you have some mates or can get it in ya self and you can pick one up cheap it may be worth it. dont know much bout the cost of the engine, give the zook mob over there a buz and see what they have and not to forget the local wreckers.

the gear box havent done that conversion my motor was pretty much a straight swap all we had to do was swap the dizzy and a couple of sensors over. cause the plugs were different.
