Hey,

So im installing gears in my transfercase, how do I undo the bolts on the driveshaft flanges? The instructions say they are 28mm.. Does one of the flanges need to be held with some kind of vice? Cause it just spins around and I cant find anything to help stop that...

Thanks guys

I believe there is a flange removal tool it's just a bar with two studs that u slip in the bolt hole while you undo the center nut or you could just try get it in the vice

Strong Rattle gun and socket

or

Vice
Spanner + hammer
Possibly Heat to loosen it up.

flange in the vice, socket to suit, rattle gun and try and pry out the indents in the nut that are there to stop it spinning.

I dont got air tools, I gotta make my face turn blue on these kinda situations...

Also with installing the 6.5's, will this make my speedo as accurate as it was when stock?

You can bring it over mine, I've got a decent bench vice but my garage is a shit tip at the moment or I'll bring my compressor and gun over to yours.
It shouldn't take long.

Two bolt hols and bolts in a peice of RHS or angle = custom flange tool.
works a treat. Clamp it to your bench or stand on it, slip another peice of steel on your socket and your laughing.

I had one that the rattle gun wouldnt do, but the bf breaker bar did, great big crack when it went.

And Im pretty sure they are 27mm not 28. Just tap out the indents with a slim center punch first.

/\ This /\ is good advice. Just don't use a cheap pikc or screwdriver to pry out the indent, it will break off, and pinned the nut on there even harder.

I learned the hard way, and had a broken off tip of a screwdriver in there holding it solid.
