Hi there, I have got my Zook going in to get a spigot bearing replaced this week and have also noticed that the engines idle is deteriorating rather rapidly. I was hoping to get some opinions, before it goes in so that I maybe able to have this problem resolved at the same time.

On most occasions the engine starts well - hot or cold start. However increasingly I have had to apply a little throttle to avoid the engine falling below 1000 rpm and idling rough. After driving the idle further deteriorates and after a very short period of time idling after acceleration the engine drops to around 800 rpm and becomes noticeably rough. If anyone has had experience with a similar problem your comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, rwicks10

coil pack or coil pack probes (plug leads)

have you tried pulling the error codes off the ECU?

idle air control valve dirty or shagged?

Hi there, many thanks for the replies. I will have both checked when it goes in. Atari if it is at all possible would it be ok if you sent me the information on the fault codes and the best way to check for them? Thanks again for the replies. Cheers, rwicks10

it could be a number of things that's caused the CEL (check engine light) or MIL (malfuction indicator light) to come on under those conditions, one of the most common causes is a lazy o2 sensor.

to retrieve the error codes from the ecu, you need to make a suzuki special tool, the diagnostic tool numberis #564425681687934... :lol:

mine is made from some thin wire & covered in electrical tape & heat shrink. 8)

attached is a word document explaining how to retrieve the error codes. let us know how you get on with the codes, there is a universal o2 sensor that can be used for about $100 or a genuine one at around $330.
